Now, in the beginning of the third week, the Xperia Ray has appeared on online retail site, Flipkart.com, listed for pre-order for Rs. 18,995. While this might look a little steep, especially compared to the Galaxy S i9003 with its 4-inch screen, we expect Sony Ericsson to drop prices soon enough after launch.
In terms of specifications, it has a 3.3-inch display with an astounding 480x854 pixel resolution (equalling a 297ppi density). It has a better camera than the Galaxy S though, with a 8.1MP offering also capable of 720p HD video recording.
Other specs include a 1GHz Scorpion processor and Adreno 205 GPU, part of the Qualcomm MSM8255 chipset, 512MB of RAM, 300MB of user available inbuilt-storage, microSD expansion to 32GB (4GB card included), and a 1,500 mAh battery capable of delivering up to 6 hours 50 minutes of talktime, 430 hours of standby time, and 36 hours of continuous music play.
We expect the official retail availability to happen sometime this week.
