The Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (C|HFI) is a professional certification provided by the International Council of E-Commerce Consultants (EC-Council.) and focusing on network security investigations. The certification was developed by Jay Bavisi and Haja Mohideen, founders of the EC-Council with the assistance of an advisory board which included Erik Laykin. The exam is currently in version 3 as of March 2009.
Members holding the CHFI designation are required to re-certify under the program every three years to retain their certification.
