If the user places the mouse over a particular item on the desktop, a toll tip pops up. This displays and information about the icon. If you want to disable this tool you can use this simple tip.
Click Start, go to search box and type in regedit.
Browse for HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/
Click the Showinfo tipregistry key on the right pane.
Click Edit or Modify.
In the value data field change the value to “0”.
Close the registry window and reboot system and you are done.
